Literature Text
Flowing darkness.
My eyes look back,
Searching depths.
I walk forth,
But notice shadows shaping.
Glance back -
There's something there.
Still I don't turn;
I'm urged on -
Uneasiness abounds.
My hair whips,
The moon shines,
And the shadow now encroaches.
Red eyes stare,
A howl ensnares me,
And the black form of the wolf
Calls my name.
Okami Musume,
Your trial has begun.
My eyes look back,
Searching depths.
I walk forth,
But notice shadows shaping.
Glance back -
There's something there.
Still I don't turn;
I'm urged on -
Uneasiness abounds.
My hair whips,
The moon shines,
And the shadow now encroaches.
Red eyes stare,
A howl ensnares me,
And the black form of the wolf
Calls my name.
Okami Musume,
Your trial has begun.
Literature
Falling or Flying
We have broken the last barrier
and nothing will hold us down.
We will rise, uncontained, uncontrolled
past the moon and the stars
through the wonders of space
until all we know is a speck beneath us.
Or maybe we will fall;
the cloudy floor has collapsed
and we have tumbled,
flashing like lightning,
but there is no ground to guide us home.
We will last forever,
careening through nothing
as the sole inheritors of existence
with but our hopes and fears alongside
wherever they may take us.
We have broken the last barrier, and
I don't know if we are falling
or flying.

Burning to Know
Don't watch my eyes. You might see my thoughts, you might understand. You might strip me bare to who I am.
Don't listen to me breathe. You might hear a whisper escape, painfully silent, but screaming to quake.
Free, that's what I wish to be. Why do you bind me, when you used to fly with me? Am I a trapped prize, something to admire when it's time, something that builds your pride, while you steal mine, while you watch me die?
I crave the things I cannot indulge: His heart, your mind, his arms, but your eyes, his thoughts, his care, but your lips on mine.
I still hunger, I still thirst. These thoughts fuel my search, and incinerate my worth
Literature
New Air
My every inhalation was a hyperventilation,
Tiny puffs of naught but nitrogen and dust;
But then you took my CO2, transformed it into something new,
A true blue atmosphere erupting through the crust.
Now my trachea awakes in lakes of oxygen that slakes
The violent thirst of all the tree roots in my chest;
I attempt to catch my breath, but it is sprinting far and fast,
Away from death into the fairest air at last.
